Day 1 of #21daysofprayerandfasting
I had the pleasure of visiting Israel in November. It was a surreal experience to walk where He walked, cry where He cried, and see the places I’ve read about for years in the Bible. I expected to feel His presence everywhere because it is such a holy place. While overlooking the Dead Sea on our hotel balcony, God reminded me that though this place is holy, I am a holy place too.
That can be a difficult thing to accept, especially if you’re like me--someone who is painfully aware of all her shortcomings and failures. But just like Israel--even in the turmoil, anxiety, and unrest--it and I am still holy. I may not always feel it. I may rarely feel it, to be honest. But the Word tells me that I am a royal priesthood, and I am a holy temple. He who dwells in us creates all that’s right and good within us. What a beautiful truth.
We don’t need to kneel at an alter or bow in prayer to speak to Him, He’s happy with a simple quiet prayer said while driving or in the space between walking from our car to the office. Relationships are built on the in-between moments as well as the monumental ones. It’s the time together that matters, and we’re blessed enough to have Jesus with us wherever we go.
Let’s start this new year with a sincere and deeply moving truth.
You are holy.
I am holy.
Let’s start living like it.
What in your life is clouding your holiness or distracting you from living in complete communion with Him?
We all have our lists, but thankfully, we all have our God to help.
